One Day Workshops
An introduction to Studio Lighting for Portraits - SHOOT AND PROCESS - Saturday September 30th 2017
Tutor: Mike Brown
Time: 9.30am to 5.30pm
Location: Platform3 studio
Places available: 7
THIS WORKSHOP IS INTENDED FOR BOTH THOSE WHO ARE NEW TO STUDIO LIGHTING AND THOSE HAVE A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE AND WANT TO IMPROVE THEIR SKILLS AT PORTRAITURE. IT WILL BE A GREAT CHANCE TO ADD TO YOUR PORTFOLIO AS AFTER SHOOTING WE WILL LOOK AT PROCESSING A COUPLE OF SHOTS FROM THE DAY
For this Workshop we will start with the basics and progress during the session. We will have a model for a good part of the day and participants will get to shoot each of a few different set-ups. We will look at simple but stylish portraits whihc can be made with a minimum of fuss! We may even get a chance to look at a natural light portrait also using window light in the studio.
In the afternoon we will leave enough time to look at processing one or two of the photos in Photoshop to make it "Print ready" - we will make a print from one processed picture also to see the final result.
The workshops will be very hands-on, with participants making plenty of pictures. We will look at a few different but simple lighting set-ups so participants will get a full understanding of the set up and will then be able to shoot images of each one. We will then process an image from the shoot and if participants want to bring laptops etc they can do.
